Every day we have to make dozens of decisions. The fast pace of life, constant stress, the need to do as many things as possible often lead to the fact that a person experiences stress. It is worth understanding what this phenomenon means and what measures can help prevent the occurrence of stress.

       What is stress? Stress is a state of the body characterized by emotional and physical stress caused by exposure to various adverse factors.

The concept of stress implies a situation that causes the need for adaptation of the body. There are several types of stress. Usually using the concept of “stress, we mean distress (“extreme stress ” ) – a condition that adversely affects the human body. Eustress – the so-called “beneficial stress, as a result of which the functional reserve of the body increases, it adapts.

Minor stresses do not harm the body, they even stimulate a person to find a way out of the current predicament. However, a prolonged state of distress can lead to a disorder of the cardiovascular system, a decrease in immunity, the development of skin diseases, and depression.

The causes of stress can be very diverse:

– physical stress;

– family problems;

– monotonous activity;

– anxiety, sometimes unreasonable;

– adverse environmental conditions.

It is important to identify the causes of stress in time and try to eliminate them. To effectively identify the causes of stress, you need to pay attention to the reaction of the body and the corresponding symptoms.

Possible symptoms of stress :

1) Changes in blood pressure, heart rhythm disturbance.

2) Decreased or complete lack of appetite, sometimes a sharp increase in appetite.

3) Malfunctions of the respiratory system: a feeling of lack of air, frequent colds.

4) Muscle spasms, cramps, sometimes back pain occurs.

5) Skin rashes, allergic reactions.

6) Frequent headaches.

7) Feeling tired, obsessive thoughts, anxiety.

Stress develops in several stages. There are three main stages of stress: the anxiety stage, the adaptation stage, and the exhaustion stage.

  1. The stage of anxiety manifests itself as a reaction of the body to stimuli. The adrenal hormones (adrenaline and norepinephrine), the immune and digestive systems are involved in the formation of this reaction. Digestive problems and an increase in colds can be avoided if there is an opportunity to quickly resolve the situation or show a natural reaction (for example, physical activity).
  2. The stage of adaptation implies a balanced consumption of the body’s adaptive reserves. In this stage of stress, the functioning and mobilization of the body’s defense systems continue, and the psychological manifestations of stress, such as anxiety and aggression, disappear.
  3. Stage of exhaustion. At this stage, somatic diseases develop, a lot of psychological disorders appear. With continued action, it is possible to provoke the development of a serious illness.

       Stress can harm the body, to prevent adverse effects, prevention should be done. Stress prevention may include the following:

  1. Regular exercise. For the development of the respiratory system, dancing, swimming, running are recommended.
  2. Proper nutrition.
  3. Enter the correct daily routine, close to natural human biorhythms. One such change is to go to bed no later than 11:00 pm.
  4. Relaxation. It is necessary to give the body to restore strength. To do this, set aside at least one hour a day. You can do breathing exercises, listen to pleasant music.
